Bear River, Nova Scotia: home of Personamedia

Since 2002, I have lived with my family and worked in the lovely, mythic village of Bear River, 4 miles from the Bay of Fundy, at the head of a tidal river which rises and falls nearly 30 feet a day.

The community, once famous for shipbuilding, is home to a number of internationally renowned artists and craftspeople.

The view in this etching from the 1920s is virtually identical to what I look upon — minus the tall ships — from my studio window.
